Does anyone know if ecco shoes tend to run small or large compared to other brands?

I found some for sale through online classifieds but they're a bit out of the way. I'd like to know if there's a chance they would fit before going there (and trying to convince OH that 20$ is not too much to spend on slightly used shoes)

I am now so confused about shoe sizes. Lo is currently wearing size 4 (uk 3) shoes but they are getting a bit small for her. So this morning I took her size 5 shoes out of storage and tried them on... and they're too small! I can't get them on at all. :dohh: The next size up I have is 6.5, which is way, way too large for her.

Another possibly stupid question... are laced shoes a problem for a young toddler? I have always heard people say that velcro is much better, but I'm not really sure why that is. I guess it is better for when they put their shoes on themselves, but my girl is not at that stage yet. Any other reason velcro would be better?

Coiling shoe laces are a life saver :)

Why not try a 5.5? I think ecco follows eu sizes and even so, are slightly bigger and also wider than uk sizes. If yiu arent certain about her size, I would take her to get her feet measured and than buy :)

the shoes I saw online were size 5.
5.5 might be ideal, but I am going with what I can find in used shoes. Can't afford new shoes right now.

I measured her feet and they're roughly 12cm. Based on that, size 5 might be correct. Some charts even put her at 4.5. I don't knoe why the size 5 I have don't fit.
Shoes are confusing!

If its the same Ecco as we have over here then i would say they are pretty standard. Love them though, they were expensive but super light and comfortable x

Standard I guess & a bit wider than other European brands like pabloski. His feet were a bit wide when he was younger, Ecco shoes were the only ones that fit perfectly for him. I think they are similar to Chicco

I think average, or wider than normal would work fine. The shoes she is wearing right now are size 4W. I don't know if lo has wide feet or not, those shoes were just handed down to us.

Hopefully we'll go check out the ecco shoes tomorrow.

I'm also in quebec. My dd's first pair of real shoes were Ecco. She wore a size 5 around the same age as your lo. When they measured her at Panda shoes they said her feet were 4 but you should always buy 1 size up. I think, I may be wrong here, but you should be able have a 2 finger space from the tip of their toes to the tip of the shoe. 20$ is an awesome price. The insole in the Ecco toddler shoes are made to use with more than 1 child as they don't take the imprint of the foot.
As for shoe laces, they did come undone, we always had to double knot. I've heard about the coil laces and have heard from many parents that they are amazing and worth the extra$$$.
