Has anyone had experience with a ectopic foetal heartbeat? The heart is skipping a beat every once and awhile. The midwife I saw today said it wasn't that unusual, it's not harming the baby, and it will likely sort itself out by birth, but they also now want me to come in twice a week to have the heartbeat checked as if it starts going to fast it can be a problem.

i hace no experience but wanted to send you some love <3

Dd2 had it. Had a scan on her heart by a specialist to make sure everything was ok and had extra monitoring but it had sorted itself out before she was born. Scared the hell out of me when I first heard it hun xx

Thanks, all. The heartbeat was normal at the check today so Fx it's sorted itself out now!

In case anyone comes across this thread- she ended up growing out of this. They checked her heartbeat twice a week for about 5-6 weeks and it gradually became less frequent until it disappeared, so all is normal now.
