My 7 week old is exclusively breastfed. He is gaining very well and thriving, had no problems what so ever, which after giving up with my first child with latch problems I am very pleased about. But I just seem to get every infection going... Currently full of a cold, with a chesty cough and have 4 ulcers on my lower lip. Has anyone else noticed a weaker immune system with breastfeeding? Any tips on boosting it? X

I noticed this at first, too. I rarely catch colds, but in the first few months of BF I got a few. It seems to have gotten better on its own as time passed, though. Maybe it is just the added strain on the body from not sleeping well?

I imagine its due to lack of sleep and your body being more susceptible to bugs.

I was sick more in the first few months after giving birth than in the several years before! Not fun
