Elective section - how many people were you allowed to hospital with you?

Sooo ladies ive just found out that its highly likely ill be having a section. problem is, i had planned on having two birthing partners, my mum and my best friend - my mum will be in there while i have the section, but im really hoping that my best friend can come along to the hospital as well and sit with us before and after....anyone done something similar? on the off chance anyone else has - im going to be at royal surrey country hospital. xx

your only allowed one in theatre with you but there shouldnt be a problem with you having your friend wait in your room

It might be hospital specific, but 2 are allowed for planned c-sections at the hospital I have used. Only 1 for emergency c-sections. Either way, your friend should be able to stay in your room with you before and after the actual surgery.
