I keep getting emails from facebook saying I have requested a new password or sorry I was having trouble logging on. I haven't had any problems with it so it's not me. That email address is only used for fb and a couple of other things so I don't think it would be spam. Could someone be trying to hack my account?

Sounds like it. Whats the email asking you to do?

Hi .......,

You recently asked to reset your Facebook password.
Click here to change your password.

Alternatively, you can enter the following password reset code:
****** [there is a real code just don't know if it's personal lol]
Didn't request this change?
If you didn't request a new password, let us know immediately.

My facebook account is new and I've told very few people about it. I never had this with my other account

It sounds like it is. I'd report it to them anyway, I know they took their direct email address to contact them off the website, but maybe if you look on the FAQ it might tell you what to do? What kind of idiot tries to hack an account and sends the person an email to tell them they're doing it :S x

I've set my account to have a code generator login so that I get a text with a code anytime I want to log in from an unknown device so my account should be a lot more secure now (not that whoever is trying to log in ever managed). Will still try and contact facebook though. Not sure who would want to get into my account though

Wow, what a weirdo! Im glad they didnt actually manage to get into your account though. Ive had this in the past - my ex admitted it was him -.- x

Yes it does sound like an attempt at hacking. Glad they didn't manage. It sounds much more secure now you've changed your settings, so hopefully it won't happen again

I don't know who is could be. I've set it up with a different name, a random profile picture with a new email address, made it completely private and blocked a couple of people from seeing it. I will still email fb later and see what they say

That sounds fishy. I have the code thing on mine now too, never had any trouble with it since :)
