Thought id share that our little girl arrived on the 22nd Feb at 16:05, weighing a lovely 7.10andahalf. two days overdue
....
Well the night before a few suggustions on how to "bring on labour" was given to me and after trying a few things myself i gave these ago which were to soak my feet in a foot soak/spa & eat pineapple. not together of course lol. went to bed at around 12. woke up feeling fine at quart to 5 for a wee then got back into bed. couldnt gt back to sleep so had a look on facebook. All of a sudden felt a strange period like pain and what felt to me like an almighty kick. i layed tere for a second and thought something doesnt feel right. so i stood up and a tickle of water came. went and told oh that i think i might have lost some waters and then went back to bed. laying in bed i started gettin niggling period pains. but thought nothing of it. Come 6am these period pains were coming every 10-12 mins with back ache. 6:45 came and i knew labour was starting as it was definiate pains every 8-10 minslasting 30-60 so seconds. rang my mum at 7 and told her to be prepared as i was in labour and she and OH were my birthing partners. had a shower at 8 which helped with my backahe then we got ourself ready to go up to my mums. as she has constant hotwater for baths
got there at half 9 and got straight in the bath. pains were still every 8-10mins but geting pretty painful. i did cry a few times while i was contracting but stayed calm once theyd gone. had my little brother of 3 talking to me which helped take my mind of it. and OH rubbing my back. Mum walked the dog, by the time she got back i was having contractions every5mins. some times 3in 10mins. so she rang labour wad and i had a big contraction and was quite distressed by it and they heard me shouting and said that i was to go in. the Car jorney was horrendous!!! most painful. got to hospital where the contractions were extremely pains full. breathing thru them really helped. midwife gave me G&A and she did an internal. me expectly i was only going to be 2-3 cms was actuall 6/7cm
.. i did want a waterbirth but that was being used at the time so i got in the bath with my g&a and stayed there for half hour or so. ( much of this is really dazed as the g&a made me feel like id had a heavy night out!! was amazing stuff) Had to have hold of mum&ohs hand a every contraction to focus on squeezing them lol! ot out the bath and they checked me and i was 9cms and told if i felt like pushing i could.
This is where things are abit patchy as i was pushing for a long time with nothing really progressing. babys heartbeat started to slow and was told she wasnt ever going to get out by herself. had alot of midwives around by now and that was when shock started to take over me. Pushing as hard as i could got me nowhere so they had to cut me
and put a kiwi cap on to assist her out. i was in a hell of alot of pain but with the shock and g&a i cant remeber it to well. she eventually arrived and placed on me. she was all floppy and wasnt moving. so midwives rushed her off me to sort her out . OH dint get o cut the cord
what felt like hours and hours was only a few minutes and she was placed back into my arms. i can honestly say i struggled with the rush of love. even my mum noticed. but as what had just happened with me&baby in alot of shock they could understand. it took along while to be stitched up. they dint say how many just said that they do continueous stitches now. So basically ALOT! 
i drifed on and off to sleep for abit then gave her a first feed of breast milk. i was in alot of pain once we got onto a ward and it was very emotional OH having to leave at 8. i struggled to sleep and got an hour in 24hrs! i was falling in love with her at that point tho as the shock was going. and because i switched from BF to AF because of myself not liking it. emelia struggle with bottles so they kept us in again to make sure she was feeding enough. thru that last noight she did brilliant and bu half 1 friday morning we were aloud Home
Being at home is amazing! im totally smitten with this little girl. she the most beautiful thing ive ever seen and so good for us.. last night she even let us have 10hours sleep. not in one go but all together. im still in some pain but hopefully by next week i should be right as range. Hope i havent bored you. i love reading birth storys so is amazing to finanally right mine
