Anyone else deal with a lot of bradys? My daughter is almost 2 months old now and is still in the nicu. She has done so well in every area except for bradys. One of the nicu doctors has referred to her as the brady queen. She's well over the minimum weight, she takes almost 3 ounces a feed all by mouth, she's maintaining her own body temperature, but... She's still having multiple bradys a day. Today she only had 2, and that's the first time that's ever happened (the day isn't technically over yet so she could theoretically still have a couple more). I'm just at a point right now where I'm getting very frustrated. My daughter is just like a normal term baby in every aspect except for her bradys. I'm at the hospital every day, but I can only spend so much time there because I have to work. I just want to take her home and when I have to leave her I just feel like crying. I just want to take my baby home. Not really sure what the point do this post is. Guess I just need a vent.

I understand your frustration. All I can say is that she will improve, she will come home. I can tell you what our doctor told us while our daughter was having the same issue in the NICU. He said that all babies have brads and desats but normally parents never know because full term babies aren't monitored for them. He told us that as long as she recovered from them without needing stimulating, they were nothing to worry about it. She was still having them when she was discharged and came home. I, of course, still worried so bought a movement monitor for under her mattress. :)

Luckily most of her bradys are self limiting and are very quick. Most of them are with feeds too which they tend not to count. Our hospital won't let a baby leave while they are still having bradys unless they are past their due date and only them if they are only occasional. Otherwise she has to go 5 days without one and she can only go about 1. She actually just had a brady and her last st rest brady was yesterday. We're hoping she comes home next week since next Saturday is her due date.
