My little girl Emma Keely arrived a little earlier than expected, was due to have an elective c section due to a previous traumatic delivery but Emma had different ideas and my waters went early meaning the date had to be brought forward. I was admitted to hospital the night before having mild contractions and they wanted me to have steroid injections to mature her lungs as she was slightly early. I was 2nd on the list for the c section that day. It was very surreal walking down to theatre knowing my baby would be born within the hour, the spinal went in fine and I felt very well looked after the surgeon was lovely and very reassuring, the sensation was odd once they made the incision was like someone was washing up in my tummy. They pulled her out after what seemed like a very small amount of time and she screamed my OH got to go over whilst they weighed her and she was a healthy 7lb 9 oz not the 10lb everyone had thought. My OH then brought her over to me, she is so yummy. Took them a while to stitch me back up and then I was taken to the recovery room and had some skin to skin and Emma had her first feed. She is an absolute delight and I was so worried that I couldn't love anything more than my 1st born but it is true when they say you just have double the love
