Well, after deciding that we weren't going to push for an early re-assurance scan...we ended up at the EPC today anyway.
Woke up yesterday morning with brown (old blood) spotting and feeling a bit tender in my abdomen. Instant panic, of course. Phoned the out-of-hours GP service who referred me to the EPC (early pregnancy clinic) straight away.
We arrived there to closed doors...we waited and when it was obvious that they weren't going to be open, went to the ward next door (which I'm guessing is a general gynae ward). Where they told me that the EPC isn't open on weekends and I shouldn't have been referred. Needless to say we were quite upset, especially at the thought of having to wait another 24 hours after we thought we were going to get some answers.
This morning FINALLY arrived and I'm so so so so so relieved that we saw a wee tiny little heart beating away, and everything was fine & measuring correctly. Phew!
So, I guess this is a bit of reassurance - spotting, especially "old blood" doesn't always mean the end.
Turns out I do have a UTI, though, which is probably where the tenderness has come from...oops!
