Has anyone tried this? I suspect my baby has silent reflux and he has all the symptoms. My dr wants me to try a milk free formula to see if he is allergic to milk. We have been trying Nutramigen now for a couple of days but his silent reflux symptoms are still there.

I have read about Enfamil AR and would like to try it on my LO. Every advice is appreciated, I am desperate. It takes up to 2 hours to feed him sometimes.

hi, hope this helps..my son had acid reflux like crazy..they even had to put him on some oral meds to help soothe his little tummy..the best formula that i found was similac sensitive..its a lactose free formula..ever since i put him on it, no oral meds :) good luck

Give the nutramigen longer. It will only help if the reflux is caused by a milk protein intolerance. If it helps you can try thickening with carobel or infant gaviscon. If your LO is in severe pain thats affecting sleep and feeding a paediatrician can prescribe ranitidine or omeprazole. Hope it gets better soon.

Also have you tried all the usual things like keeping LO upright for 30mins after a feed, slow flow teats, gripe water xx

my LO is still on enfamil AR .....his was silent reflux, was on losec too....we tried everything, including a week on nutramigen!

the only thing that worked for him was a cranial osteopath. she worked a miracle and after the 3rd time with her conors symptoms had completely gone so we took him off the meds and left him on the enfamilAR....this was after 13/14 hard weeks!

the only thing is you have to let the boiled water be really cold before you add the formula, and it does clump abit so you need bigger teats and i premake 2 bottles to allow it to thicken a little....works a charm....i know there is alot of research on premaking bottles making babies sick but my LO is fine!

Ok we tried the enfamil AR today and he has slept all day! Cant believe it my poor bub he has been in so much pain these last weeks. Took me a lot of googling and researching to find out what the problem was. I told his doctor what kind of issues he had and he told me well babies cry, its probably trapped wind. Idiot. Thanks fot the inputs ladies!
