Engorged 10 days pp...should I express?

My LO is ten days old and I am so engorged on one side At the moment! She only tends to want one boob per feed so the other one might go 6 hours between feeds. I know I am still establishing my supply but I'm wondering if I express the milk will it make the problem worse? Any ideas? I don't remember having this problem with my son.

Your body is working on regulating your supply. If you plan to regularly express a little, go ahead. If not, you are signaling to your body to keep up the super high production.

If you are uncomfortable, hand express a bit off to reduce the engorgement. It probably won't make enough of a different to increase your supply, and does ease your discomfort.

Yup, exactly. Just express enough to keep you comfortable. The engorgement will go away soon :0)
