I've been having a problem with low supply and latching, so I bought some brewers yeast tablets cos I heard it would help. Well, I woke up this morning and my left breast is swollen and hard as a rock. It hurts so bad, and for some reason LO keeps just letting go, even when I use my breast shield, and I know he's hungry cos he's fussing and rooting. I can get him to go again, but he does the same thing. Could something now be wrong with the milk? And even if he nurses twice as much, that left side will still be full. Anyone ever have this happen?

He will probably be letting go because full breasts are very hard for baby's to latch on to. Have you tried hand expressing some off so the breast is a little softer than re latching him xx

I didn't know I could hand express, good to know though! I'll try it

I had this myself at the beginning and it was really frustrating and painful but as the pp said, hand expressing really helps. (I had to look up the technique on you tube!). Also sometimes a warm shower can help relieve some of the engorgement. Hang in there hun it gets better :hugs: x

Hope it works for you :) it's very easy once you know how, just have a look up the technique and then you will feel the breast becoming softer and your baby should latch much more easily xx
