So I’m starting Jan/2012 I began keeping track of what day I get a +opk and the days we BD around that time. This is what I have so far…

Jan 2012 + opk on the 19th BD 19, 20 and 23rd BFN
Feb 2012 +opk 18th BD 16 & 18 BFN
Mar 2012 +opk 15th BD 15, 16 & 18 ???

My concern is we are not BD enough! What do you think?

Also for those who have been TTC for awhile now how does your hubby feel about having to BD on a schedule? LOL:haha:
I think my hubby is starting to feel used or like it’s a chore :nope:

I don't want to say you're not bding enough, but maybe at the wrong times? You should O with 24hrs after you get a positive opk, but you should try bdingthe days couple of days leading up to O...so maybe the 2 days before and the day of O. They say this is better than just the day of O because the sperm will be in there ready and waiting. You should start checking your cm and when it's wet and/or eggwhite...like raw eggwhite...start bding. Thats fertile fluid and makes it easy for the spermies to get to their destination. Anything after O is a long shot and mostly for pleasure. Hope this helps.

Are you tracking your whole cycle too? I find that I notice a pattern from month to month of when my OPK turns positive and even though it's not always the same day, the days are very close (i.e. O day 16, 17 or 18) so then we BD starting day 14 or so. Looking for ewcm is probably the best bet though because it is the stuff babies are made of ;) kinda. It's the best fluid for the sperm to swim through without much of a challenge. Some cycles I've gotten a positive OPK and little to no ewcm. But this cycle, I found that I had LOTS of ewcm and no positive OPK....So I wouldn't rely completely on the OPKs.

As for DH -- at first he was reluctant to BD, but now I think it's exciting for him because we make it interesting so that it's less of a chore/on demand.

Sperm live for 5 days, roughly, once they're inside you. Your egg, however, has a very short time where it's actually viable and able to be fertilised.

Basically you need to BD lots BEFORE you ovulate as, once you've ovulated, the chance for fertilisation drops very quickly. Essentially you want the little guys ready and waiting once the egg pops out.

We concentrate on BD from the day my period/spotting stops up to the day after I get a +ve OPK. We BD after as well of course, but that's just for fun. ;)

The amount you BD depends on your lifestyle and how much sperm your man produces. In general they say to BD every other day. Our FS told us to BD every day as my OH has lots of sperm, but he's low on "normal" forms. So basically we need to try to get as many of them in there to maximise the amount of normal sperm available when my egg pops out. Men with lower sperm counts are advised to BD every other day.

Hope that made sense!

AF is due April 4th but if she does show we are going to try the SMEP as well as opks, preseed, legs up in the air after bd and i'm started taking geritol as well

oh also i am keeping track of everything month to month

The day AF comes
When it stops
WHen i get a + opk
and days we BD :)

Legs in the air is a myth - you really don't need to put yourself through that. Lying down for 5mins after :sex: should be enough.
I would BD every other day for most of your cycle if you can to cover all your bases!
Good luck! :dust:
