looking at slings for hiking and originally was going to get OH a phil and teds one till i seen the ergo

would this be suitable to round terrain walking etc.........

or could you suggest another suitable carrier, possible the connecta would be good

i'd prefer to avoid the metal framed monstrosities if i can

I think so. We have the Ergo Performance and it's brilliant. Not taken it hiking but we've certainly done a fair few miles in it. It does get hot but has all the sporty type material to take away the sweat. Can you tell I'm not sporty?

i'm not sporty at all lol but i do love my walking!!!

how big is the waist on them in UK sizing i'm a 20-24 perhaps by now

I have it quite small but I'm a 16. OH has a big waist and it easily fits him so I'm sure it would fit you with extra space.

thank you very much, think i will try to get to my local sling meeting to try on once LO is here!!

i feel a sling addiction coming on

There's an ergo sport too? Worth trying them all :)

the purple one is lovely i may have to have that as well!!!!

how many ergo's can i have without it looking bad?????

one for me normally, one for him for hiking etc......

oh and one for tuesday, tuesdays are a special day... as are mondays and fridays

 I agree, but wait til you start on the woven wraps....

first ones in the post, pretty floral sling ohh so pretty

Another one hooked - marvellous! We've got the performance too, it's the nuts :D

their are some i see on ebay, are they real ones?????? the galaxy grey one is close to me so i could go view it see if it fits

I went for long cliff walks with Isla in the ergo on my back.it was fab, I totally recommend it.

The ergo is ideal for outdoors and hiking. The waist is long enough - you can also buy an extender if you need it. My OH wears it along with me - he's a size 42 inch waist and I'm a 28 inch. Fits fine for both.

Lots of fakes on eBay, Mayhem, I wouldn't chance it myself x

don't think its worth the risk to be honest........

may as well get one direct off ergo, plan to use it for a few kids anyway then i can sell it on, and probably still make a decent amount back

We have an ergo and do a lot of hill walking, we would never use the ergo for this!... It has no proper support for long mountain walks, it has no storage and although it is comfortable and I use it the rest of the time, I always use my MacPac backpack carrier for hiking.... It has a raincover, wind sheild, really good waist belt to spread weight evenly, like any other decent hiking rucksack, and has lots of storage space, which is more handy if you're going for a walk on your own with LO.

Some are complete monstrosities, really heavy and bulky but if you invest in a good one then it is well worth it!
