Doctor has put mee in a 2 week course of antibiotics, however on the leaflet it says erythromycin is not suitable when breastfeeding as it passes thru into milk. I did tell the gpthat I was still feeding but he said it was fine.

anyone else been given this antibiotic whilst bf ? Im little reluctant to start the course but it is the best course of treatment for my condition as ive had it pre pregnancy and they worked wonders.

The breastfeeding network has a list of antibiotics which are safe.

If you do decide to take the antibiotics then remember to take acidophilus alongside them to help prevent thrush.

I was on a couple of lots of antibiotics including erythromyacin for almost the entire first 18 months of bfing due to chronic mastitis and DS was absolutely fine. I was lucky enough to not get thrush, but I do second PP's about taking so probiotics to help balance the gut.
