Hey i figured since my lil man is sleeping i would tell yall my story of his birth. I Was told to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning.. When i got there i got admitted and sent to L&D floor. Once up there they hooked me up to a monitor to monitor his Heartbeat and my contractions ( which i was already Having) Then came the Enema ( hate those things) fast forward cause we all know what those things do to you! At 7 AM they started my IV fluids/antibiotics and Pitocin. When they checked me i was still station -2,70% Effaced, 0 dilated. When They came to check me again which i believe was every 2 hours i was station 0, 80% Effaced, 1 dilated. When they came back in again 2 hours later i was in a lot of pain but was only 2 cm dilated. I asked for some pain relieve the nurse then went and asked my doctor was it okay for me to have my epidural and he said yes but i had to wait a hour so a whole bag of fluids could go in. So she gave me a shot of nubain till then. It helped for about a whole 25 mins it seemed like. Finally i was able to get my Epidural and right before they checked me i was at 4 i was finally getting somewhere
After the Epidural i was in pure bliss no pain at all. i was sleeping for a lil while when they came in again and checked me and i was at 5 1/2 well i went from 5 1/2 to 10 cm really quick. I couldnt feel my contractions but i could feel pressure in my bottom like i had a bowling ball down there so i called my nurse in and she checked me and said the gates are open.. i kinda looked at her wierd and said what? and she said your fully dilated! She called my Dr and he came in and was joking saying "i thought you said she was ready" (very funny dr) right after him another nurse came in and asked do we need the table set up he was like yes and then came back in and asked do we need a baby doctor. my dr looked at her and said " Yes i think we need someone in here to take care of him'
And 13 mins after i started pushing Evan scott made his way into the World on Dec. 13th of 2012 at 3:43pm ( my dr thought i wouldnt have him till the next day so he was surprised). I had to get cut so thank god i had that epidural so i didnt feel anything.. If i could go back and tell myself that labor and Delivery aint as bad as you would think i would maybe then i wouldnt have been so nervous!
