I'm hoping someone can provide some quick fixes to the absolutely terrible excruciating pain I'm experiencing when I urinate. Ever since I gave birth 3 days ago. It seems like it's getting worse each day. It brings me to my knees and I have tears just streaming down my face every time. It's absolutely terrible.

I have tried soaking in the tub, peeing in the shower, icing my labia, spraying while peeing, pretty much everything I've been able to find on the Internet. Nothing has relieved it in the slightest.

ANYONE experience this? I delivered vaginally but the doctor said my tear was very minimal. I've looked at my parts in a mirror and nothing looks infected or swollen or anything.

Please help!!!

It does flipping hurt to wee when you have torn. I found the sitting on the loo and leaning right forward so I was totally bent over helped. It's your wee burning the wound and this helps it to miss it. It stopped hurting for me after about 2 1/2 weeks x

I was also told to lean forward on the toilet to help the wee 'miss' you, also, I know it seems backward, but drink as much as possible, the better hydrated you are, the purer your wee will be and the less it should hurt. I know when it hurts you get frightened to drink because you'll wee more, but like I say, it actually really helps. My mom swore by not spraying, but pouring water down there at the same time as weeing, she used to take a jug to the bathroom with her.

I hope you feel better soon.

If the pain is that bad then I would say go and get checked out. I had some pain when immediately pp from a graze which hurt more than the stitches from my second degree tear.

I have an open wound down there which burns when I wee! I do the jug thing and do find it helps! Perhaps you have some damage (tear or graze) that you just can't see with a mirror? Ask your midwife to check when they next visit maybe?

Thanks ladies. Still dealing with it. I did get checked out. Was told all looks ok and I just have to wait it out. Awful! Coming up on 2 weeks so hopefully not much longer for this.

It depends where you have torn but you could possibly fold up a wad of loo roll then hold that over the sore bits (from behind) then aim your wee forwards. A bit acrobatic though!
