The last couple days something changed. Now my let down hasgonefrom prickly pinsand needlespain to extremeburning stabbing pain. It takes my breath away and I have to breath thru it like a contraction. It's horrible and is making me dread each feeding. I didn't have this with DD1...isthisnormal? Will it go away?

I don't think it being that painful is normal and you might want to see your GP just in case..

Defiantly not a expert but could it be the start of thrush?

not an expert at all but would mention it to a professional as it has obviously changed. i wouldnt have thought it should be agony, and if it never used to be it might be worth speaking to the health visitor or something

i agree with getting checked for thrush - we have been getting treated for that this week and every feed made me want to cry

what you describe is how i felt - it wasn't on her tongue (so i didn't see it) it was on her upper palate and the doctor could see it straight away!

hope things get better soon xx

Thanks ladies. I checked DD mouth for signs of thrush but didn't see anything. Unfortunately I'm on vacation till Sunday so I have to put up with the pain till at least Monday when I can get to the doctor. It seemed a tiny bit better today...still dreading each feeding tho.

I had that happen around 4 weeks too. But at six weeks now,it's back to tingly. Not sure when it stopped hurting but it has:)
Maybe give it a few days then see your doc

I just wanted to update ... the pain went away on its own a couple days ago. Very strange! Hope it stays away!
