Our 7 week old started to sleep a 5-6 hour, a few times 7 hour, stretch after feeding around 7:30pm and then a 2-3 hour stretch. So he's weaning on his own.

The past few nights he starts crying around 30-60 minutes after the feedings and sounds like he is in pain, pushing stuff out, etc. he crys/screams for 5-10 seconds then stops for 30 seconds and so on. His eyes are closesd or fluttering, so we know he is tired and wants to sleep. He is normally able to put himself to sleep without us so we don't think he's just looking for attention. Temperature is fine, diaper is empty, etc.

We hold him upright for 20-30 mins after feeding, and that usually helps, but the past few nights have been tiotally different with the eyes closed on/off cry/whimper/scream. Seems like MORE gas problem as he gets older??

Any ideas that may help?
Thanks!

My LO does the same. Can't usually get him to sleep when he wakes up uncomfortable like that, but sometimes if I rub his belly in a clockwise motion he will toot a bit and doze back off.

You could try to rub his tummy and feet and hands after feedings when you burp him or just whenever you suspect he is gassy.

Does he poo every day? He might be straining one out so again, belly rubs will help.
