My OH, that is. Anyone else have a partner whose eyes just glaze over when you bring up names? It drives me batty, because I think the discussion of names is one of the best parts! The worst thing is, when I'm in the hospital, IN LABOUR, then he's all pencil and paper and baby name books and lists of options. By then I don't care!

Oooohh, maybe that's his secret plan all along! Never thought of that!

:hugs:

That is exactly the way my hubby is! We still have time he says...well we have one week!

Hehe! Mine's like that... got a girl's name sorted, still torn between two on the boys (did have it sorted, but may have fallen out with one of them) and he just will not talk about it!!

I say Jack or Tom? He replies with a 'funny' (infuriating!!!) such as 'neither, I like Roger, or Tarquin!' (Apologies to anyone who has those names chosen!)

mines getting better, he said Poppy's growing on him... but i'd only consider as a mn and only if he let me use oliver

Lol, mine is the same way. He won't make any suggestions on his own, but shoots down every one I make. He says we still have a long time (which we do) but still! The only suggestion he has given is Optimus Prime, lmao.

Haha! Glad I'm not the only on, then! I kept seeing all these threads where people's OH's had opinions. When hubby got the baby name books out during my last labour, I told him he could name the bloody baby (not my best moment!!). He still kept interrupting my contractions to ask "Do you prefer xxxxxx or %%%%%?"

It's a good thing he has other redeeming qualities!!

The thing is we have lots of criteria when choosing names, and five kids already, so we've used lots of the ones we like! It has to be pronounced the same way with an American or a British accent (he's American, I'm British). We have a long last name that you always have to spell, so no first names that require a "How do you spell that?" We live overseas so we prefer names that are easily pronounced by other cultures or a bit international in flavour. It can't be too "American" sounding, either, and he vetoes loads of great boy names for sounding too "British". Lots of comments about being beaten up on the playground.

Honestly, it's a miracle we've ever named any of our kids at all, and our third was, in fact, three weeks old before she had a name (and she was born over two weeks late, so we had no excuse, really). Her birth certificate says "Name Changed By Parents" because until we got it all sorted out she had been registered as Blank Blank OurLastName. It's bad, girls!

LOL!
theres a chick on facebook who will change her name to OPTIMUS PRIME if 1,000,000 people join her group...

lol :)

my advice to everyone: leave robot movies out of the babynaming process! LOL

Yeah, hubby says he doesn't care which name I choose.. and then doesn't like the ones I pick!
