I've noticed that Amelia comes out in a rash on her face whenever she has a feed, and then it starts to disappear after she's finished.. Could she be allergic to the milk? She had this when she was on Cow and Gate First Infant Milk and now Cow and Gate Comfort. Could it be the brand? A milk intolerance? Lactose?

She's also had problems with constipation and belly ache for a good few weeks now.

I will of course ask my HV but baby clinic isn't til wednesday so I thought I'd ask here first in the meantime.

My little girl is the same. I BF her at the start but always topped her up with cow and gate so its not like the change to FF is her first experience of this milk. I spoke to doc on fri and she thought it sounded like a heat rash???! be interesting to hear what your HV says.

My daughter was abit intolerent to milk . when she was bf she would vomit loads every time i drank milk and when i switched omg cow and gate gave her an awfull rash after a feed so i switched to aptimal and she as alot better . it could be an intolerance to something in the formula . everyone says there all the same but there is different variations in the milk xx

Do u think they can develop a rash after being on it for 6 weeks? It has been increased in quantity as weaning off breast milk.

Really random (and easily eliminated) theory - is it the part of her face that's resting up next to you as you feed her getting the rash? We used to get one on her cheeks when she was worn in a sling that was just from the heat and sweaty boob factor and it faded fairly quickly when she was removed from there.

My LO had this last weekend and I called the nurse, she said it sounded like contact dermatitis which is just an irritation from rubbing or resting on something. I would check into the allergy theory if there are other symptoms though.

My LO gets it from the BJorn or the ERgo carrier as she likes to flop to one side! also if she sleeps in my arm for a long time one of her cheeks will have it.

I do wear her quite a lot (she hates not being held), but when I feed her, her body and face is away from me. I have to feed her a certain way because she has special bottles for her cleft palate, so it's not a contact rash. And only occurs during/after feeding.

My LO is on cow and gate comfort and does the same thing. Goes red and blotchy at the start of the feed and by the end is normal again  I just assume its heat rash, I go blotchy if I'm hot/bothered/embarrassed/upset anything really so assumed he's got that from me :haha:

Anthing is possible especialy now they are getting more of the milk. but im not too sure it might not be the milk sometimes babys get rashes for no reason or when there weaning etc. maybe you should monitor it and write down how often it happens and then mention it to your health visitor xx
