false pos on digi opk????

hi does anyone know if it is possible to get a false pos on a digital ov test. I had + on a cheapy and then on a digital on 22/03. had day 21 blood done and the doctors messed up on the form and now say they cant tell if ov from the tests done. this is my second cycle on clomid 100mg, i was told lst month i did not ov but got pos opk after my blood taken then af 3 days later. really confused, anyone got any ideas please.

Im not sure but didnt want to read and run...

I know that a +opk doesnt guarantee ovulation... why are you on clomid? Some ladies are on clomid due to PCOS and this can cause +opks at 'wrong' times...?

Otherwise Im not sure! I hope you get it sorted soon!

I doubt youd get a false positive with a digi hun but it is possible to experience a LH surge but not Ov so maybe your Ov was delayed and didnt show up on the bloods as they were taken too early?

if the doctors have messed up can they not just redo your bloods? x

thanks for your replies, i have been told i have mild pcos but was put on clomid due to no ovulation, when i rang the doctor for blood results he said he could not tell if ov so i asked for another form and he said there is no point as i was no longer on day 21, my doctors are not very helpfull. I really got my hopes up this month for ov but thinking now it was wrong as im 15dpo going by digi and tested on sat bfn!!!! oh well suppose just gotta wait n c. aaarghhhh xx

Exactly what i was going to say - the positive can be the LH surge but you can go on to not actually OV!

well im assuming the + opks the other week were something to do with pcos because i got another very strong + yesterday and tested with a digi and hey presto i have a smilie face again, bk - today so its the waiting game again 2 c what happens, started temping now again, think its for the best, thanks for your advice

I have gotten a false positive on a CB digi HPT so it wouldn't surprise me

It could be that perhaps you did O, but that your levels were very low and you o'ed early.

Was the test line on the OPK equally as dark as the control line?

yeah half of it was actually darker as if it had a different colour dye in it, thats the reason i tested with digi but same thing happened on tues and now they are -, bk to the waiting game. its auful u got a false + on digi hpt
