2 days ago my LO decided to stop eating so much in the day and has started waking at least 4 times in the night for good, long feeds! No matter what I do during the day (dark room, no sound, cover) she will not eat properly!! Sometimes she latches for a could of seconds, pulls off, latches again, pulls off, latches again etc etc etc!! Is this normal? How come she has suddenly decided through the night is the best time to eat now? Is there any way I can reverse this?

Thanks.

OMG, someone else who is having the same problem! My LO has just started doing this too. I have no idea why. The only thing that worked was me laying her on the bed and feeding her from above ie. dangling my boob into her mouth. Don't ask me why this seemed to work but I had tried everything! My sis in law said perhaps it was around the time my period would normally come even though it hasn't come. Perhaps I've started ovulating. Hope it sorts itself out as I can't feed her like that all the time!

It's weird isn't it?? I'm thinking she must be hungry by now....so she latches on....stays for a minute or two then just bobs on and off, on and off before eventually refusing altogether....happens all day long!! Going to give the lying down trick a try, thank for the tip! To be fair this is how I feed her at night and that is when she is having her long feeds at the minute so definitely going to give that a go!

Interesting what your sis in law says....I've had no period yet but had stomach cramps a few days ago!! Hmmmmm

Let's hope our babies start eating again properly soon!!

My dd does that exact same thing every time before my af returns. She's frustrated with the slow flow so when she's latched on I do breast compressions to make her stay on long enough to trigger the let down. And I feed her (or try to) before and after a nap, but I donno if I'm encouraging snacking....

My LO did this for two days, but suddenly decided to return to her normal 8 hour night sleep routine last night. No idea what prompted the change in the first place, but I'm pleased she is back to sleeping at night.

Mines been doing this. We are back on track with night feeding but she is not only pulling off really quickly during the day but also getting upset. I'm just glad she's not doing it at night anymore. I've tried everything that I could think of! I seem to have lots of milk and am not sure what the problem is.

Hi gals, I think I've worked out why my LO has been fussing and not taking her feeds. It looks like I might have started ovulating again. TMI perhaps but I haven't had any CM since I've had my LO and I noticed that I had today. I also DTD with hubby yesterday and I actually wanted to!! We have only done it a couple of times since LO's birth as I generally couldn't be bothered but this two things have made me think that my body is starting to undergo a change and that probably I will have my period soon.

Of course, it's probably none of these things!
