Wasnt sure whether to put this in here or in baby & toddler but its more to do with feeding so ...

The last 3 days Brooke has been grizzly as hell, esp in the mornings but it seems when i feed her then go to wind her she gets all grizzly and cries like she has tummy ache, then brings up a bit of wind, stops crying, then starts again. Shes been a bit sicky today which isnt like her, and she is just grizzly like shes got tummy ache or somethings hurting her

She's never been like that at feeding times, always quiet as a mouse so im wondering what on earth is going on? :hissy:

It sounds like a bit of colick.

She could still have a bit of trapped wind even if she has had a burp, I normally try and listen to see if I can hear the wind by either bouncing her gently on my knee, or by sitting her on my knee and supporting her head, and move her upper body in a circle, clockwise for 3 seconds and then anti clockwise (this usually brings up another burp aswell). It may be worth trying something to help her like infacol/gripe water/dentinox.
I've changed teats aswell today to variflow ones hoping that will help. Good luck x

sounds like trapped wind to me hun, i find if i lie annabelle flat on her back on the settee and then lift her up again and wind her she will bring more wind up.

not saying it will work but hv suggested it to me said it works like a bottle when u lie it flat the air floats on the top then when u tip it up straight it comes to the top and comes out

hope it helps hun

i too think colic, i would try bouncing her one your knee, and also burping after every oz or so, that always worked for maddi, is she cries whilst being winded, pop a dummy in, that also helps maddi bring up her wind. you could also try gripe water honey or up your infacol dose x

Olivia is th same hun, and I think it's just wind she is struggling to bring up. I read somewhere that it can actually take 40 mins after a feed for them to bring it up.
I am finding that changing her position helps to shift it. So I start by sitting her upright & patting her back for 5 mins or so, then put her over my shoulder for a few more mins......then if she is still cranky, I try laying her on her tummy across my knees & rubbing her back and if needs be, I then lay her on her change mat & move her legs in a cycling motion......although this tends to bring out a trump rather than a burp!!! It seems to be working, so I'd recommend trying it with Brooke.

Oh, also, we have moved up to the next stage teats......we found that with the slower ones, Olivia was sucking so hard she was taking in excess air.....now she is on the faster ones she is better. We also now make up an extra ounce in her bottle to make sure that if she is hungry, she doesn't drain the bottle dry 'cos she would sometimes still be trying to suck when there was nothing left & ended up taking in air.

xx

Claire was doing that on her horiffic day/night that I had with her. I'm definitely no expert, but my Mom suggested to stop her part way through the feed and try to burp her, and then continue the feeding. It's helped (so far, knock on wood). Not sure if that's your situation, but wanted to share the advice.

Hope she feels better soon, it's so hard having a cranky baby eh? Breaks my heart to hear Claire cry.

i think same as the others hon a bit windy, i def think burping them halfway through feeding helps tho i know its a bit different on BF babies as they dont get alot of air feeding, she could just be having a winge too!

also i know if Freddie is tired when he is feeding he gets grizzly, i am only just starting to recognise these little signs tho! if he crys even after being fed then he is normally just tired so i put him down and he usually goes off, maybe she is tired?
