We both want another child, but conceiving the first one was hard and took 3 years! This time around, I figured maybe I would try charting or just monitoring the calendar a little closer (kinda hard though, since I have irregular periods) but all that planning seems to freak DH out! I guess he feels like it's more pressure "TTC" than just NTNP. I dunno :( Anybody else in the same boat?

Maybe you don't have to tell him every detail of charting temping etc if it freaks him out because he might feel too much pressure to bd. Maybe just let him know when you're ovulating? X

Yep, I started charting right off birth control (Mirena IUD) because I learned about the whole temperature thing and thought it was super cool (yea, science geek, sorry, lol) and wanted to "test" if my body did it too. Sure enough, it obviously does but I continued doing it because I thought it was really interesting. It totally freaked OH out that I was getting "too clinical about things" and all that. So I charted for five months until I could safely say I "knew" when I was ovulating and for two cycles after that I tested myself just off my CM. When my CM reached the consistency of what I learned to mean ovulation, I did an OPK to check my answers per say and sure enough, it was right. Now on cycle 8 I'm temping again but I'm not being too terribly careful about it in that I don't take it at the same time each day or even every day, it's just kind of a reference guide to my cycle. We have an appt with a fertility specialist to evaluate why we're not pregnant yet after 8 well-timed-intercourse cycles and she wants me to chart so now I have an excuse. And my OH is getting impatient too so he no longer has a problem with it. So give your OH some time and reach a mutual understanding of what is "too much TTC" for him and do your best to compromise with each other. When my OH found out I just thought it was cool, he couldn't care less I was temping. lol
