I can't link because I'm on my phone but she is the lady who killed her 2 babies :( she has been sent to a secure mental unit rather then prison because she had severe PND.

I really feel for her and think the judge made the right decision completely but on fb people are calling her a monster and saying she should be locked up. That Pnd is no excuse.

I don't understand how they can judge like that, surely she was sick and wasn't in the right mind. Knowing what she did is going to be punishment enough for the rest of her life.

It's judgmental attitudes that make so many women afraid to seek out help :(

agree with you. PND is an illness. don't feel prison appropriate for her. when she gets better she will be living with what happened for the rest of her life.

I feel that a mental hospital was the best choice over a prison.

I mean what mother in her RIGHT mind would want to kill her own children.

Thats the thing, she wasnt in her right mind at all, she was/is sick, PND is a mental illness which will never be cured with a prison sentence...She needs other methods of rehabilitation.

Unfortunately, people still have the old mentality of, if you cant physically see the illness, then they must be lying.

I have a massive respect for her husband for standing by her, he must know that what she did was completely out of character.

The amount of guilt she must be feeling now is punishment enough - My heart bleeds for both her and her husband

I also have a huge respect for the husband. The hospital was definitely the better choice in my opinion.

What will happen when she's 'cured' so to speak? Will she just be allowed to go home? Obviously I'm sure it will take a long long time for her to come to terms with what she's done. Xx

I remember reading about it at the time, then read about it again yesterday.

I think a hospital is the right place for her, she'll get the help she needs and outlet that she'll need when realisation hits.

Such an awful story, poor woman :( People shouldn't be so quick to say she should be sent to prison, she obviously was very ill and not in her right mind. PND is a very real illness.
I hope she can now get the help that she needs

I hope that with the right treatment and support she will released and they can both move on (i know they will never forget their angels but i mean just live some kind of happy life).

One of my seniors at work does alot of work with people with mental health problems, sometimes in ashworth that have killed people as a result of their mental health problem. He says prison is probably 'better' for the person as they are very reluctant to let people out of a psychiatric hospital who have killed people as they aren't sure if it couldn't happen again. I'm not sure if I wouldn't rather be in prison tbh. Though I have no experience of prison and little of psychiatric hospitals. When I went to ashworth it was horrible. Hopefully this lady will be with other ladies with Pnd and can get the proper help she needs, not just be locked up for life in another form of prison. Not sure I explained myself there but i tried!

I really feel for her too, but when she is better and it allowed home, will she have more kiddies? Will it happen again?

Its horrible as shes going to have to live with what that illness has made ehr do forever? :(

xxx

I can see your concern lau but hopefully once she has been treated they will let her go. If she went to prison they would just release her regardless which is dangerous.

I'd like to think she will go on and have more children but be closely watched
