I'm 17 and half weeks and a couple of days ago I fell over my bag , landed on my side but with my arm underneath , like an automatic protection I think. Arm is so sore now but I am worried about baby, I have had no pain and im sure my tummy wasn't anywhere near the ground ? Suppose I just need reassurance , has anyone else had a fall and been ok, am I being paranoid or should I go to hosp ? X

I have epilepsy and during my first pregnancy I fell a couple of times due to seizures, so I know how worrying it is. I did get checked because I was told to as with the seizures I become unconscious and fall so don't usually protect myself and everything was fine. I'm still nervous about it this time around though so I probably would get checked just to reassure myself. My friend fell during her pregnancy and worried herself sick for about 2 days before deciding to go get checked out. Everything was fine but the nurse told her if she ever feels really worried about something like that to call them or go in so they can reassure her.
Hope you're ok :flower:

When I was 22 weeks with my DD ( my first pregnancy) I was at work and went to the toilet, the cleaner had been in and didn't put a yellow sign up to say the floor was slippery therefore I slipped straight over snd landed half on my bump and with a lot of force. I was very big for that gestation aswel I panicked like anything I went straight to the hospital expecting the worst. They examined me and scanned me too and everything was absolutely fine. They said to me that we do under estimate how well protected they are in there :) I'm sure all is fine Hun but if in any doubt it doesn't hurt to go and get checked for peace of mind! Hope your arm gets better too xxx

Aw thankyou ladies I am just a nervous wreck , I keep hearing baby is so well protected in there , think my arm got the brunt of the fall hence the pain . I think me and fiancé wil jump up to hosp tmro just to be sure . Thanks for the reassurance and glad ur bubs were OK xxx

My mom fell when she was pregnant with me and I turned out fine! She did go to get checked out though. She fell while she was playing softball, and her doctor told her that maybe she shouldn't be playing softball... Her response was "Oh yeah, I didn't think of that!" I don't know if my mom was just more easygoing about pregnancy or if her generation worried less... I have a feeling it's the latter.

Thanks ladies I think we r just so cautious n any wee bump or nudge gets us paranoid so when I fell i panicked - been feeling flutters all day so I'm sure that's a good sign lol xxxx

I fell towards the end of my last pregnancy. Around 30 odd weeks. At the time, although scraped up, I thought I was fine. Baby too. Turns out the fall caused havoc on my pelvis. A week later I couldn't walk. Spent the rest of the pregnancy in agony. Baby was fine but I was definitely not. Keep that in mind, good luck :)

You're so right , think we focus on baby so much that we tend to forget about ourselves lol. My arm is ok now - will definitely be more careful in future . Thanks a lot xxx
