Well received a nice letter from Ferring Pharma stating that certain lots of Bravelle "did not meet potency requirements" and that I'm entitled for a full refund of the drug. While I'll gladly take my $3000 back, I can't help but wonder if this meant the difference between success and failure. My September IVF resulted in a miscarriage, but I didn't have any more embryos left to freeze. I had 7 follicles and only 3 eggs retrieved. Only 2 viable enough to fertilize that went on to be embryos. Had the drugs been stronger... could I have had more eggs? We'll never know.

Really wish I could sue them for the cost of the treatment and then some, but I don't think I'll be so lucky: https://www.law360.com/articles/714717/ferring-s-muted-fertility-drug-recall-falls-within-fda-rules

Anyone else affected by this?

Yes! I wonder the same about my failed cycles.... There's a class action lawsuit going on. Idk if you know about that.

I only found out about this recall today for a failed round of IVF we did in January of 2015 and I am PISSED. My fertility specialist didn't give me a heads up and I never received a letter in the mail. I just happened to be talking to my rep at SMP (fertility pharmacy) and just happened to mention that I was on Bravelle previously and SHE told me about this! It's great that they're refunding the drug costs but that drug's failure cost be THOUSANDS of dollars more than just that one drug cost! I was 38 my first round! I don't have unlimited chances to conceive! God, I am so upset about this.

Thankfully, we've switched fertility specialists and are a lot more confident this time around. But we had to wait almost TWO YEARS to be able to afford IVF again! They are so lucky they're not local or they'd be getting a piece of my mind, in person.
