Fetal heart scan

I have to go for a fetal heart scan tomorrow. I have gestational diabetes and because it was diagnosed early (13 weeks) I've been told there's a risk of heart defects. I'm absolutely terrified. Has anyone else had one?
I had the 20 week scan on Monday which all looked good so that was a relief. The midwife who scanned me said that the hospital who do the heart scan have more specialist equipment etc so may see something she missed.
It's difficult to keep calm and stay distracted.

I haven't but would like to wish you luck. I was born with a heart murmur, don't know if that is classed as a 'defect' but I think most things would just be something to monitor x

I managed to keep distracted last night by going to the football. Just got another 4.5 hours to go. I'm potty training DS at the moment so that keeps me occupied. The nerves have very much kicked in though!

Yes as far as I know, it just went of it's own accord. Just remember it's only a risk, everything has a risk, so try not to assume the worst. xx

It all went well thanks! The staff were lovely and the doctor said that everything is looking normal so I won't need any further heart scans. Very relieved!

Good luck. I just went and had fetal echo. I have to go back in a few weeks, cause he said it looks like there's a hole in the heart.
