So I was due to be booked in for induction on Monday 18th August as I was showing no sign of labour and a sweep had failed.
on Saturday 16th my OH had to go to wedding as he was best man so I went to my parents that was 5 mins from my hospital so they could help out with my daughter and I wouldn't be home alone. I'd felt fine all day had no signs of anything then at 9.30pm I noticed my discharge had increased and was quite watery. I warned my mum and she said not to think anything of it just yet and keep and eye on it.
10.15pm I got into bed (I was staying in my mums bed as she has a nice mattress) next thing I no pop my waters went everywhere.. I was more mortified I was n my mums bed lol.
My dad rushed me off to the hospital even tho I had no pains just to get checked while my mum frantically rang my OH to tell him.
The hospital sent me home as I wasn't contracting but gave me 24 hrs to have him or I'd need to be admitted.
The pains started the second I got back to my mums, the we're at 7mins and bare able.
I sent my OH to bed while my mum stayed up with me all night, pains got worse but never closer together. Soon they hit 5 mins and they were bad but I was coping ok. I rang labour n the mw refused to admit me as I could talk though my contractions, even tho I told her I was breathing through them. She told me to ring back in 2 hours.
2 hours later I was in so much pain but they were still 5 mins, I rang again sobbing. They'd changed over so they told me to come in straight away. By this point it was 7am
When I got to the hospital they checked me and I was 7cms, contracting ever 2 mins and could hardly move. I was to far for any pain relief apart from gas n air. I wanted a water birth so they ran the pool for me but before it could fill up I was screaming I needed to push, the gas and air was making me sick so I went it alone.
It was so painful but couldn't exactly go back. But I doubted myself every push! I had 2 midwives, one was amazing, the other I wanted to lamp if she told me to push one more time! As if. Wasn't pushing already!!
At 9:17am on 17th August, Austin came into the world screaming weighing 7lb9 He had his cord round his neck 3 times but they managed to get it off before his shoulders came out.
I had a 2nd degree tear and I lost a lot of blood so spent the night in hospital. But Austin is perfect in every way.
He's the completion to our family
We're now home recovering and settling together
