Well, I got taken into hospital on the Wednesday, i had a pessary inserted around 12.00noon but i had it taken out about 1.00am as my uterus started to continuously contract and i had no breaks from the pain and it wasn't good for the baby.

On Thursday i had another pessary put in at 6pm but had it taken out two hours later because it started to do the same, and i was in agony.

Friday Morning i got assessed by the doctor and i was still on 1/5 engaged and his head could be pushed out of my pelvis and my cervix where still closed, never the less they decided they would try and break my waters... so at 12noon i was taken over to the labour ward and my midwife tried to break my waters but my membranes were so thick she was unable to so, so half hour later the sister came in a tried and it took her a good 20 minutes to finally break my waters... and there was a nice warm gush :haha: and she goes 'blimey you had a lot of water!'

about 10 minutes later, my midwife had just popped to get a few things so it was just me and my mum in the room at this point and my waters suddenly started pouring out of me continuously and the sensation was making me laugh and in the end i flooded all the bed, water was pouring of the sides and all over the floor and there was still more coming my mum run to get the midwife and it was bedlum everyone was laughing nobody had ever seen so much fluid!! So, id been in there what 45 minutes? and wrecked the place they had to change my bedding change me wipe the floors. after all that i had my IV put in, and i let the midwife have a go as she was training to learn to do them or something with the assistance of an anaesthetist she tried her best but in the end my vein collapsed and it ended up being taken out, the other woman then put on in the side of my wrist (very painful) and then i was started on the drip to bring on my contractions... but this Iv eneded up tissued and made my wrist swell because it was no longer going through my vein so i had a 3rd IV which my vein collapsed :dohh: so then i had my 4th which was fine so i was good to go and had been on the drip for quite a while and my contractions were strong and regular.. so i went on the birthing ball and gas and air which was heaven! i loved it i stayed on there until i had to be checked for dillation i was 4cm...back on the ball i went. at this point the monitor made my belly sore and i ended up giving myself a bloodwheel from scratching so hard, but i really didnt care. a few hours later i was in a lot of pain and couldn't bare it any longer so i had some pethidine which meant i couldn't go on the ball anymore, which kind of counteracted having the pathidine because i was in so much more pain laying down on the bed anyway...... after i had a sleep i had my epidural (and another IV because the other had collapsed) and what a load of crap that was i still felt everything and all it did was give my agonising hip pain after three top ups they told me i wasn't aloud anymore but i was like i don't understand im still IN PAIN?! they did this like ice cube test and i couldn't feel it on the bottom of my legs but as they got to the top i could feel the coldness on my skin so great the epidural HADN'T worked just made me a bit sleepy, after about 12 hours of intense labour i was to tiered to push but i tried and tried and tried until in the end i just fell asleep. The midwife had to bring people in as my body just couldn't cope any longer as i hadn't eaten in 48 hours and had had no sleep previous to having my waters broken. No matter how hard i pushed i couldn't get him over my pelvic bone so they used forceps and vontoes (sp?) and i had to be cut they tried really hard to pull his head but it wouldn't come so they made a larger deeper incision i finally gave birth to his head and what and amazing feeling it was when he came out i just couldn't believe it i did not care about the pain nore the blood he just cuddled up to my chest it was just perfect :cloud9:

I then had to be stitched up, which took nearly 2 hours i ended up with a 3rd degree tear as well as an episiotomy. When back over on the ward i ended up needing two blood transfusions which wasn't nice at all. But i feel a lot better now and after a labour from hell i would do it all again to have my little boy, hes just perfect. Afterwards the registrar told me about everything that had gone wrong, and she even said i would never have gone into labour on my own as i was simply to small to deliver such a big baby and never should have gone through labour and a c-section should of been carried out. but nobody could have predicted what would of happend and im just happy to know i have a healthy little boy.

Me and Harley are doing really well, my stitches are healing nicely even if i do look like a patchwork quilt :haha: hes soo goregous and content :cloud9:

CONGRATULATIONS!
