So after a "failed" induction on November 17th-19th I was sent home for the weekend (long story) and to come back on Monday the 22nd.....On the 20th I woke up, finished my Christmas shopping, came home and my water broke....a slight leak at first and I wasnt sure what it was so I stayed home until I was sure it was my water and then called the hospital, they said because its my second baby and I live an hour away I should probably go in right away. So we packed up the dog, brought her to my mother in laws and headed to the hospital. Once we got to the hospital and started walking in I felt a huge gush and had water down to my ankles

After getting in and getting a bed I see the dr who says that because I had a big baby last time (10lbs) and had a blood transfusion and they were estimating another big baby he didnt want me to labor in the middle of the night when they were low on staff so he wanted to wait to start the drip.

At 5:30am they started an oxy drip and I went into labor. At about 9am they said that if I wanted an epidural I should ask for it now since it would take them at least an hour to arrive so I agreed. They came to do the epidural, numbed the area, put it in...hit a nerve!! took it out, put it in another spot....hit another nerve!!! At this point im in tears, contractions, nerve pain..... He tries one more time, puts it in and it seems ok.....until about an hour or 2 later when the initial freezing wears off and I realize the epidural didnt work!!!
So Im telling the nurses I can feel everything, Im literally screaming through contractions and they try another medication in the epidural line.....obviously it did nothing since it wasnt in the right spot and I continued to feel everything. They checked me and I was only 5cm at this point but they wouldnt call them back to readjust the epidural until they were "sure" it wasnt working......(as if the screaming in pain wasnt enough proof for them)
So they wait 2 hours and still Im feeling everything and they decide to check me again....Im 10cm already and ready to push, and all I can think is "omg, im going to do this with NO pain relief" I didnt even get offered gas and air!
Time to push, I pushed once and they tell me to stop, I pushed too hard and the baby is coming faster than they thought, they called the dr....Im sitting in stir ups, in agony waiting for the dr at this point and I yell "where the hell is he" and they tell me "still at home"
OMG are you KIDDING ME!!!
The dr gets there, finally, Im screaming at everyone to let me push and I push once and out comes babies head, another push and the rest of him comes out! What a relief!!!

because he came out so fast he got a ticket to the NICU and was there for 4 days
