Finally narrowed it down to 5 names that we sort of agree on....

We have agreed not to finalise her name her until she's born, the only definate thing is that her middle name will be May (after my nan) . So our combined shortlist goes like this:

Phoebe
Madeleine (Maddie)
Daisy
Connie
Jodie

What do you think?? (I have listed them in MY order of preference , my hubbys order of preference is different )

not sure about Connie in general, and Maddie May might sound a bit like that Rod Stewart song, Maggie May... I like Maddie but not sure about putting it with May!

Connie and Jodie are DH names he chose for the list , I dont like Jodie either tbh, it reminds me of Jodie Marsh too . Im not a massive fan of Connie either, but its his nans middle name, so as Im having my nans name I dont feel that I can really veto it , but I think that Jodie may have to fall of the bottom of the list .

Just though it would be fun to look at the meanings of the names:

Phoebe means bright moon and is the name of a Titan Goddess

Madeleine (Maddie) means from Magdala and is a variant of Mary Magdalen the Saint.

Daisy a flower name (obviously) that comes from the Old English Day's Eye but is also a variant of Margaret!

Connie is the short version of Constance meaning steadfastness

Jodie is a variant of Judith and means from Judea (Jewish).

I think Phoebe May and Daisy May sound the best with May as the middle name.
I love the name Maddie, but I personally don't think it fits very well with May

I love the name Madeleine and hope to name one of my daughters it. Not just because it's so pretty but because I love the book- it was read to me and my mother and I read it to my little sister almost every night, and I'd love to be able to do that with her.
Madeleine May is gorgeous, I also like Connie and Phoebe (though I've been put off that name by a girl I know who isn't my favourite.)
