Holly is TW but I give her finger foods as well. She's really good with finger foods, but she usually vomits. I think it's because she gags on them if she tries to swallow pieces that are too big, but sometimes it's just when she burps. DH and I have to sit with our hands cupped under her mouth when she gags, as it seems the puking is inevitable. DH also freaks out because she looks like she's about to choke, but I'm guessing it's normal. Is it something they grow out of? It's kinda gross getting handfuls of sick! :haha:

:haha: sorry "handfuls of sick" :haha:

Nim does the same, I think its just as their gag reflux sorts itself out and adjust to bigger mouthfuls of food. TBH I've found the more finger/BLW style foods I do the better shes got, although we still have spoon fed puree as well.

Nim also tries putting far to much n her mouth at once, that doesnt help! (although it beat the pea she wedged in her ear this evening)

My oldest daughter took longer to tolerate bigger pieces and still gags alot to this day.

Thanks for the replies :flower:

:haha: at Nim and the pea in her ear! Today was a success - puke free, although she managed to squirrel away a piece of chicken, a mouthful of potato and a bit of tomato in her cheeks all at once :dohh: Her poor Grandad had no idea what landed on him, when she spat a tomato out about half an hour after dinner time :haha:
