First AF after stopping BF lasting forever!!

Hi all, my son has just turned one and I've stopped breastfeeding about a week or so before he turned one. So naturally my period has returned!
It started on the 2nd of March, started slow, just spotting, going brown then pink then brown again.... couldn't make up it's mind!! Then after about a week it had started properly, though not very heavy.
And it's still here!! There have been a few days lately where I've thought: oh! maybe it'll finally be gone tomorrow because there's been nothing on the tissue when wiping, but then next time I go to the toilet there's some red blood again.....
So from the first bit of spotting to now I'm going in to my 4th week!!
Wish it would just go already!!!

Anyone else have this problem???

ps, I should add I don't have any fertility issues, such as pcos or anything like that. I do have hypothyroidism, but that's controlled with medication and has been for the past 6 months or so!
Also taking birth control/mini pill (cerelle)

Could it be your pill? I took the mini pill while pumping- but it's only progesterone (not estrogen), so it's not as effective once you stop BF. You might just need to get another BCP? Maybe a low dose estrogen- I was on one and LOVED It! No periods- or cramps- minimal PMS... it was lovely. I have the IUD now

You might ring your OB for other ideas? Could just take time for your body to get back on track- although it's no fun in the meantime!

I think...... fingers crossed......it may have stopped now. Went to the toilet twice last night and once this morning and there was nothing there..... guess I'll have to give it a day or so before deciding it's gone, but it's looking likely.... Might have to change to a different pill but I go all weird and emotional on some of them! I was on one once that just made me cry all the time for no reason, I didn't even know why I was crying!
