Hello ladies I've been wanting to share my experience for a while now, my perfect little boy is now 7 weeks old. Anyway here's how it went, at 39 weeks +4 I was taken in to be induced, baring in mind I was 3cm dilated for 2 weeks before hand and nothing had been done about it because I hadn't had any pains what's so ever. I was asked on a check up wether I wanted to be examined to see if anything was going on because I'd had slight back pain but turned out I was 3cm. Anyway I was taken in to be induced on the 2nd july 2012 I was waiting round for over 4 hours to even get a bed then managed to get one but was left a further day before anything actually got started. On the 3rd july I was finally taken down to the labour ward around 3pm. I was absolutely starving but they wouldn't let me have food due to me being induced, at 4.30pm my lovely midwife came in and I had my waters broke, then she brought in a dip to bring on the hormones more to speed up my labour but because everything went so quickly I never ended up needing it. By about 7pm I was lying on the bed, (in pain yes) but not enough pain for me to be screaming and what not. I hadn't had any pain relief by this time either and the midwife said I was 7cm then :o but soon after I had that examination I had gas and air then diamorphine. Alls I remember was lying down and opening my eyes one minute looking at my partner and my mum and seeing them both crying cause I was in pain. I can still hear my mum begging me to have an epidural but I felt fine and didn't want it. The midwife said I kept having a few sly pushes as well before I was 10cm, by the time I was 10cm it was 10pm and I could start pushing. (This is where I was exhausted) I started and just felt so sick kept thinking oh noo please don't throw up rebecca! I was pushing away 3 pushes at a time but by the time I got to my 3rd I just felt my body couldn't take it and I'd just drift off asleep for about 30 seconds then start again. I remember the mid the baby coming out at first I was a bit hessitant but then decided to look and yeah it wasn't a pretty sight but still so magically knowing a baby was how can I say it 'coming out of me' haha. At 10.47pm baby oliver was born. By the end when his tiny head was coming out that was the most painful bit I could have felt even though I didn't cry or scream at it. But then when he was brought up and put on my chest I just burst into tears, and looked round to see my mum and partner and my midwife all crying. I've never felt so proud in my whole life to know he was mine and I done it all myself. I didn't realise how strong I was and for me to go threw child birth I now know I'm stronger then what I thought and I'd go threw it all again tomorrow. Oliver weighed 6lb 14oz and 3quarters :) even though threw the pregnancy they said expect a 4-5lb baby he or she is tiny. But he came out perfect. And I'm just soo soo proud to call him my son :) xx

Congrats :) sounds like one of the nicer births. Hope mine can go just as well :)

This makes me a little bit less scared about how my birth's going to be! Congratulations on the birth of Oliver! :) x
