Hello!

So this is the first month me and my partner have actively tried to conceive.

I've been reading up all over the place on cycle lengths, and when your most likely to be fertile etc etc, but I keep coming up with conflicting information and it's making me really confused now!

The first day of my last cycle was May 5th and lasted for 4 days (normally always 5, but last 2 cycles have been 4). I am on a 27/28 day long cycle.

I have a handy-ish app on my phone that suggests that I would be most likely to ovulate yesterday (also DTD with the partner last night - sorry if too much info) but several other conception websites suggest that it would have been the week before.

Based on the info given, can anyone actually tell me when the best time to DTD would be and whether this phone app info is reliable?

Many thanks

L x
PS: Onwards towards that BFP (hopefully!).

Everybody is different! My partner and I are TTC after having implant removed! i have no idea either as my cycles are all over the place aftr being in the implant, therefore we are goin for the option of DTD every other day! surely cant go wrong heehee!

have you got ovulation test strips, i got some, they let you know if your are likely to ovulate within the next 24 - 36 hours

all the best xxxxx

Hi there, ive been trying for 5months now and still no:bfp: I used a wedsite that showed when you most fertile and when you apparantly OV. its mymonthlycycles.com. we have just brought OVKs to see if they can tell us when im OV as this website just predicts when you are.

I know what you mean, I was on the dreaded DEPO for 9 months, been off of it now for over a year, and it took a few months for my cycles to regulate back. I guess i'm quite lucky as i've heard horror stories!

So when is the best time to DTD? Before ovulation or when you're supposedly most fertile?

I shall be getting some OPK's I think. Can never have too much help I guess!

Yes, this would be our first. I'm also VERY excited and impatient. My sister is currently 7 months pregnant with her first, and it's done nothing but make me and my partner broody!

Lets hope we both get our BFP's soon!

Lux - That is very exciting that you are TTC! Yay! Good luck to you! I am TTC #1 as well. As Laura 246 and hellybean mentioned you can get OPK's that help you determine when you are ovulating. According to the OPK companies, they let you know that you'll be ovulating in the next 24-36 hours. These are the best 1-2 days to BD to conceive.

However, you are fertile for about 6 days of your cycle... 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation. The egg only survives for about 24 hours once it is released from the ovary, but a man's sperm can live for 2-5 days inside the woman.

The two days before ovulation through the day of ovulation are your most fertile times. If you don't want to use OPK's at this point you can pay attention to some signs from your body. Do you check your cervix or CM? CM becomes much more abundant and when you press it between your fingers, then pull your fingers apart it stretches for several inches. Sounds crazy, but when I first got that CM I knew exactly what it was. When you have this CM you are at your most fertile. If you BD while you have this, you have a better chance of conceiving.

Sorry if this is way too much info! I have been reading so much and it has definitely helped me understand what the heck my body is doing!

Good luck!!!

Thanks for that information; I found it really helpful.

Sorry to jump on the thread by the way, but I'm glad I did or I'd never have found some ladies ttc their first who are as impatient as me :happydance:

Baby dust to you all :dust:

Information from you all is all helpful and welcome!
If we are all ttc #1 then we can share all our concerns and good news with one another as we will clearly understand one another!
I have so many friends telling me not to think about it too much or it wont happen, but they arent the ones really wanting a baby! I am the most impatient person in the world lol.

To anyone that has had the implant out, when did u first ovulate after removal? I know we are all different and bodies react differently but i would like to have an idea!

hugs xxx

I am a bit impatient too!

Hellybean - Everyone tells me to just relax and let it happen too, but it is so hard! How can I just sit back when if I pay attention to my body I can at least increase my chances of getting pregnant every month by BDing at the right time?!

Oh what a crazy journey this is!

:flower:As much as I'd love for all of you to be pregnant already, I'm also happy to read the same concerns and questions I'm having (because it doesn't seem like anyone I know gets it)--we've been TTC for the first time for about 1.5 months...and I'm feeling super impatient because we had to wait 6 months for my body to ovulate after going off the pill--and that seemed endless because we are so ready to be parents!

Best of luck this cycle to all of you 1st timers...:hugs:

Hello,

I'm the same, this month will be our second TCC and I'm really excited/impatient!
I've also been told to just let it happen- but I do temp...

Can't wait for my BFP!!

Good luck to all of you! :hugs::hugs:

Yay first timers!!! Good luck to everyone!!! I hope we all get our :bfp: soon!

This is our first month ttc too and we are both so ready and excited to start a little family. Two of my friends had their babies over the weekend and I want that to be me so so much as I know you ladies do too.

I keep getting silly scenarios in my head like when the weathers warm and sunny putting a blanket out in the garden and just sitting on the grass with a baby playing and singing songs while they look at the trees and listen to the birds. Going to baby groups like Rhyme Time and meeting other mums.

Gosh I sound like a right nut job now lol :)
