Hi everyone :)
My husband & I lost our angel baby 2 years ago and have been TTCing naturally ever since. My dr just diagnosed me with mild PCOS and slightly elevated A1C (sugar level).
I've been on Metformin for 6 months now, but just started Clomid 50mg this cycle!

So far I have had a few sideaffects like headaches, some nausea, mood swings, and bloating. *TMI* Little/no CM. This kinda concerns me.

Im on CD8. We are supposed to start babydancing on CD10-14. I heard Clomid can affect CM (dry it out). That could prevent insemination altogether.
Do you ladies recommend any sperm-friendly lubricant? Any Clomid users out there experience the same issue?

I only noticed extreme cm right around when I ovulated with my round of Clomid. Until then, it wasn't dry but It wasn't an abundant amount either, if that makes sense. It was the first cycle for me and I took it days 3-7. I ovulated on CD 17 and got my two positive opks on CD 16&17. I am currently two dpo. I also have mild pcos, irregular cycles for years, my obgyn did the tests and ultrasounds and decided to try this, and knock on wood, it seems to be working. I was put on progesterone to induce AF and then about a week later got AF and started the Clomid.

Good luck!

Thank you! I am hoping this is the month. I know it is a long shot being the first month, but I just have a lot of hope in this.

PreSeed is the lubricant that everyone recommends, but you can find sperm friendly lube at any variety drug store.

My side effects before ovulation has been sensitivity to light, and extreme hot flashes. I'll also get ovulation pain a few days before I O. After ovulation I get sore nipples, which usually starts around 3 DPO. I become gassy, and get horrible heart burn (which never happened before). At first I thought they were pregnancy signs but since my first round was BFN, and now I'm getting the same signs in my second round, I know they're just my post O signs. (I wasn't able to ovulate on my own before Clomid)

There are tons of women who have conceived on their first round, all you have to do is google it and you can find all the stories. I wish you so much luck <3

hello! :D
My doctor just prescribed clomid and metaformin!
i start clomid on the first of the month! :D

I was wondering whats been your experience with metaformin? ive heard wonderful things about clomid but not so much about metaformin!

I have taken evening prime rose oil and it helps ALOT with cm.! and like others have said preseed is awesome :)

Good luck :) Yea metformin was rough the first couple weeks. I was really bad at taking the pills regularly and that makes side effects worse because your body has to re-adapt. I hated the headaches, irritability, and digestive issues (runs/gas). But make sure you stay on schedule.

I have close to no side effects with metformin now.

With Clomid i had bad hot flashes, fatigue, and crazy mood swings. :(

Im on CD10 so baby dancing begins today!

Hello!

I have just started my first cycle of Clomid after TTC for the past 13 months. At about 8 months in, I had this sinking feeling (call it a woman's instinct) there was something wrong and convinced my GP to refer me to a fertility clinic before the 1 year mark.

After numerous tests and being poked and prodded they diagnosed me with PCOS, and explained that I was not ovulating every month. Reflecting back on my own cycle tracking, it was clear that I had only ovulated 2, maybe 3 times in 2013.

So here I am, hoping to share this experience with people who know exactly what this is all about - and to perhaps help pass the waiting!

I have taken my 2nd Clomid pill 50mg (Day 4), with appointments lined up on March 7 (u/s and b/w) and March 14 (day 21 b/w) and then my follow up appointment on March 18 (I thought this would be too soon to tell ?).

I can tell you that I have already had some not so fun side effects from the Clomid. Headaches and slight nausea - luckily Tylenol was able to fight off most of the former.

Feeling hopeful that this may do the trick :)

One question I have is why the metformin? My GP mentioned it, but my RE did not prescribe this with the Clomid.

Thanks so much for the responce!

I have noticed a huge decrease of appetite with metformin! :) which is awesome!! and ive lost 5lb since taking it :) I have been previously trying to lose weight and was having a problem losing any weight!

im excited to try clomid!
although I was reading the side effects of it, and it said increased chance of multiple..... oh lord!

Damn, you're lucky!
I have PCOS but my insulin level is fine so I didn't have to start Metformin. On Clomid though, I've noticed it's increased my appitite like crazy. I gained 15 pounds on my first round :(

see i find it really weird because I havent been diagnosed with pcos or and insulin issues
i have hypothyroidism but i dont think thats related.

Im just really glad she did put me on it!
im hoping it will help me ovulate on my own!

Your doctor said try on days 10-14?? Ours was 10-20. Quite a difference there unless I'm misunderstanding. :)

Other's who did OPK's ... Did you try every other day regardless or only on the day's you got positive??

Clomid is generally a very mild medication is what my doctor told me. mostly side effects that come on are because you are ovulating and many of us on clomid aren't used to that. :)
