First feed of the day...

Harriet is pretty much sleeping through the night now, waking up between 5.30 and 7am.
She usually has 5oz bottles, so when she wakes up i will give her a bottle then half an hour later she will be crying coz she's still hungry.

Now im not being stupid, i know she is going to be hungry coz she hasnt fed in 10 or 12 hours. do you think i should make a bigger bottle for that morning feed?? or just give her the 2nd 5oz (which she doesnt usually drink all of, its usually 3 or 4oz...)

just wondering what everyone else does really!!

Is she draining the first bottle? If so then I would definately put an extra couple of ounces in

Evie's not a great eater first thing in the morning, sometimes she'll take a full bottle, other times she'll just take a few ounces lol.

I would offer her more. Earl likes to have his first bottle in 2 sittings of 4oz each about 10-15 minutes apart. He's always really lively so sitting still to eat just isn't an option lol.

Try offering her more - just add 1oz to the bottle and see if she'd like it. Can't hurt

I would offer her more too hun. I feed Joe about half an hour after he first wakes for the day and he takes between 6-8oz, a little less than other bottles throughout the day.

Omar doesnt like taking a big feed in the morning. He sleeps through for 12 hrs without feeds. He only takes 6 oz after waking up. If she wants more, just give her hun. xx

think tonights gonna be a rough one, i have just been projectile vomited on ive even had to change my underwear coz i was so wet!!
Harriet's asleep now but no doubt she will be up wanting feeding at a silly hour bless her!

bless ya I know that feeling Mckenzie has done that a few times sometimes he screams straight after for another bottle sometimes he goes one or two hrs before he wants another one. He is also not a good eater in the mornings going from 18:30/19:30 to around 5ish and has a bottle between 3 and 5oz then 3/4hrs later another bottle and breakfast he is 7months and a bit hit and miss with food and milk lol

I would offer more too hun - Imi used to have more in the morning but now she's the opposite and has less from the morning bottle than the rest of the day.

Hope you had a good night - I remember thinking that when Imi was really sick before bed it would effect her sleep but it never did. Hope you were the same x

I would offer more too.

If my LO sleeps through he normally has 8oz's then another 4oz's to go back to sleep on.

Then he only goes about 2/2.5 hours till he's wanting another 8.

He fills up in a morning and hardly drinks anything in an afternoon!

ah well! Harriet slept all night!! even with an empty belly!
This morning, i gave her a 7oz bottle and she drank exactly 5oz lol... then had the other 2 about 15 mins later and is now sparko so im bored!

Give her a few more onces and see what happens luv.
My LO will take about 2-4onces in the morning around 7am....(she not a big early morning eater... think she got that fom me)....she'll laugh a bit and play, and then will refuse any formula at all and fuss for the breast. As I leave for work around 8:45am, I like to know she's full when I drop her off at nursery.
