I weaned ds at 6 months but am weaning dd at 5 months. I feel a bit nervous because she's so young and so far have only given baby rice and banana which she's been fine with.
What else do I need to know about weaning at 5 months? How is it different to weaning at 6 months? Can I give any fruit and veg purees? Does it have to be really runny?
Any tips and advice appreciated x

i weaned at 4 months with my eldest. She took to it brilliantly. We did mainly puree'd pear and apple. I hear sweet potato is also good.. I think they can have anything within reason (fruit and vegwise) really as long as its puree'd nice and smooth. I added a bit of milk to most stuff :)

I also weaned at 4 months based on her doctor's advice. I started with rice cereal, which she absolutely loathed (so did I as a baby). Switched to pureed peas next, which she loved (still her favorite veggie, except now she eats regular ones with us). After that I just introduced new fruits and veggies once a week. I also bought a can of the Gerber puffs at 4 months just to see if she'd do anything with them - no problem picking them up with that pincer grip (she just sucked on them for the first month or two, then she started gumming them).

Carrots, squash, sweet potato, peas, apples, banana, pears, peaches. Rice or oatmeal cereals. I just throw fresh fruits or veggies in a little blender and freeze in ice cube trays. Pretty easy.
