Hey, my first appointment is in 2 weeks, and I'm more than a little nervous, could people post their stories so i can have an idea of what to expect. Its worse because normally my OH would go with me, but due to hassle with the appointments and other things I'm having to go on my own.

We've got our 1st on tues so i'll be watchin this thread until then lol.

Hey hun

At our first FS appt the consultant went through our medical history, weighed us and took all our details. It was basically a paperwork exercise and they scheduled me to have an HSG and further bloods and for DH to provide another SA. They then booked a further appt for 3 months later to ensure all the tests and results were in.

Once all our results were in and we went back for the second appt, they then confirmed we needed IVF and then it was more questions and answers, further tests and waiting.

Hope the wait isn't too long :hugs:

Hi ya,

On mine they asked loads of questions and looked through all the tests I had done so far. Told me to get an HSG booked and asked DH to have another SA done as had been a year since his last test. They also did a routine chlamydia test - so all I would say is to be prepared down below just in case!

Good luck xx

We had our first appointment in May.

- They went over both our medical histories, so be prepared to know information about parents, aunts, grandparents etc.. Took blood pressure, and weight.
- Went over the information my Dr had sent them and asked what we knew about the tests we had done.
- Explained the procedures they have at this office and how they plan to do things with us to find out what our options will be
- Did a routine chlamydia test
- Felt my abdomen and belly for any abnormalities
- Discussed and explained the tests we have been ordered (3-1/2 pages of blood work sheets for me eek!) and told us it normally takes 4-6 weeks to get those results back
- Then took me to get a couple blood tests done in office to immediately test for thyroid levels.

I was really worried and nervous about the appointment as well, but in the end, the Dr's were very nice and friendly so it put our minds at ease. Best of Luck with your appointments, hope everything goes well.

Hi

Our experience was pretty much the same as the other girls but I also had a transvaginal scan done whilst I was there. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful (and that's coming from someone who REALLY struggles to get through a smear test!!)

Good luck x
