First go at Clomid- What should i expect?

Hi all,

I have finally booked by appointment with the DR to start Clomid. It is not till September as he is so busy at the moment but after 4 very long months with no cycle after the pill i am ready.....yes i know 4 months is not long in the grand scheme of things but for someone waiting 2 years to start trying it is forever!

What should i expect on Clomid and how does it work?
Im scared to death of a multiple pregnancy....is this common?

According to my doctor, there is a 4 times greater chance of having twins than normal. I believe it is a 1 in 20 chance. I am on my third round of Clomid. A person usually starts on a 50 mg dose and it increases to either 100 mg or 150 mg if you do not O from the 50 mg dose. I am on a 50 mg dose and take it on CD 5-9. Some doctors start right away with blood test and ultrasounds to make sure you are getting mature follicles and Oing but with my doctor he just has me temp for the first three month and then on the fourth month we start with the blood tests and ultrasounds. Some women get symptoms from the Clomid and some do not. My symptoms are headaches, mood swings, hot flashes. Clomid can dry up your CM. It doesn't for me but in some women it does.

Hi ya I am on my 4th round of Clomid as we speak and Im the same dont really get alot of side effects mainly hot flushes. I wasnt ovulating before taking Clomid and bloodtests show I am now ovulating so it had a positive effect for me just need to catch the egg now. Good Luck

I've only been on 1 cycle of Clomid 50 and it gave me loads of hot flushes, which I think is one known side effect.

It gave me 2 follicles, one was 16, one was 18, but didn't result in BFP unfortunately
