First month of TTC

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. My fiancé and I are getting married in 18 days and are TTCing for the first month. I ovulated on September 1st and we had sex 2 days before and on my ovulation date. I took a hpt and got a negative but I am only 8dpo so do you guys think this is negative or am I too early too test?

Please help!!

Could be too early, It's recommended 13 days dpo. Good luck on the wedding! Mines in 24 days
