First period & flow.. (tmi)

OMG !!!! I mean... OMFG! this is insane. I know people say the first period has always a heavy flow, but this is crazy. This is a TMI, I changed my tampon 3 times in 1 hour, they were totally soaked and it's the ones for heavy flow. When changing it, the blood literally come out like a faucet. (so sorry for the tmi)

I'm a bit worried now, is this normal to bleed so much?? I'm not exaggerating, this is really coming out A LOT!b

ps: I'm getting very bad period pains, almost feels like contractions.. !

edit: I'm on my bc pill still!

I thought I started my period but now it is back to almost no discharge.
Can you phone your dr?

I was like that with my 1st period and was too scared to call my dr was scared to move as it felt like it was pouring out (tmi sorry) i used pads as i was scared to use tampons but after a week it cleared tho and Ive just had my 2nd period it was still heavy but not as bad

I've got my appointment on tuesday, i'll see then... Though I'm a bit scared to go out now! Don't want spots on my pants.

Can they do a pap smear even when you bleed ??? (hopefully I can get away from it for now!!!! )

If you do go out, wear both a pad and tampon. I haven't gone through this yet, but before I was pregnant I would wear both just in case. I hope it gets better for you. If you can't wait to talk to your doctor, you may want to ring the hospital and ask a nurse or something. I'm sure you would want your mind at ease.

I hope it gets better soon! I know how much I hated the post partum bleeding and mine was disgusting!

I have no advice about the heaviness, haven't BTDT yet. Yes, they can still do a pap if you are bleeding and probably by Tuesday it will have slowed down (I would hope)!

cant help with the bleeding advice..... and I think i've got something else to worry about now lol! BUT I can help with the Pap smear question. In the UK, NO, they definitely can't do a pap test/ smear when you're bleeding so if you have an appointment just phone and let them know - a temporary escape! Having had more than my fair share of pap/ smear tests I have an uncomforatble personal knowledge of the ins and outs (scuse pun)

ok.... i must have got confused. is a pap test looking for cervical cell changes (known as a smear test in uk)... or is it refering to a check that happens to see if everything is ok after giving birth?

My second period was just like yours. I ended up bleeding all over the bed and went through like 4 pairs of pants. I also ended up getting sick and having a fever of about 103-104. I had gone to see my doc and she told me if i was still bleeding that bad 3 days later she would give me some hormones to stop it. it eventually slowed itself down thank god. i was also having really bad cramps. i thought maybe my uterus exploded lol.

Good luck I hope it gets better soon. it's probably just your body clearing everything else out.
The period i got after that super heavy one was much lighter and im back to normal now.
Hopefully it's not a big deal for you hun don't you just love too how these things happen over the weekend??? lol

Well I must say my worse nightmare came to reality. Went to the grandprix with my husband today, and I had to change my shorts because it got through! Luckily they were really dark so it didn't show.. But damn !

That happened to me with my first daughter , i have very heavy periods anyway due to PCOS , but my first period with my first daughter was AWFUL! I was in agony and Bled so much i couldnt walk. So dont worry your not the only one lol.

Hope it gets better , and i didnt think that you could have smear test when bleeding as i was told to come in when i was a week after my period or before cant remember lol

Oh no, I'm going to be scared. I'll probably think I'm hemmorging again. It was so great being pregnant and not having to deal with any scuzzy blood.
