Hello... I would like some advice off anyone who has been prescribed clomid for low progesterone levels. After TTC baby no. 2 for over two years I have finally been prescribed 50mg of clomid. What I want to know is does the clomid actually raise your progesterone levels? I have regular 30 day cycles but my progesterone levels have ranged between 4 and 18 (i had 5 lots of tests done to be sure) i had a MC last year and I now think that my progesterone levels were just too low to support the pregnancy.
I've been reading up on progesterone cream, anyone used this alongside clomid???? Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks :)

To the best of my knowledge Clomid in and of itself doesn't raise Progesterone levels, BUT it can aid in ovulation which can naturally raise progesterone levels. Are they planning on doing a progesterone draw or ultrasounds ?

Thanks ariannda.... Yes I will be monitored during my cycle, I have to go for an US on cd12 and see what the outcome is..... I'm just hoping that is if do get pg through clomid I have enough progesterone to keep hold of that little egg!!! :)

My first IUI they drew a progesterone level a week later, it was within normal range so they didn't draw one after that. Unfortunately most things in the world of pregnancy and fertility aren't addressed or known until it's too late (think incompetent cervix, unusually low progesterone, etc)

I have low progesterone. My doctor put me on a progesterone vaginal suppository that I take about 3 days after O for about 10 days. Then I test and (if pregnant) keep taking it or stop taking it if negative.

You could always talk to your practitioner about that if Clomid makes you uncomfortable.

I am going to start Clomid in three days and I also have somewhat low progesterone 9.7. So I am on progesterone pills for days 14-28.

Hi cupcait.... My last clomid pill is to be taken today (2-6) I haven't been given any progesterone suppositories but I'm hoping that my next app they will give me something or at least check my levels.....
Is this your first round of clomid??? :)
