ahhhh how nice hun. i wish i was doing this for me n oh n lo but gotta go to ohs parents for xmas!! have u looked at recipes online like jamie oliver? x

that sounds great hun. if you are worrying about it, just think of it as a posh sunday dinner. i used to get in such a flap about cooking xmas dinner but i dont know whay coz i cook sunday dinner ever week lol

I would find some nice simple recipes online. My mum got me Nigellas book a few years ago and I;ve only had it out a few times its too much!

maybe do a garlic or lemon chicken. nom nom. Mash use real butter and roasties use goose fat! id just buy pigs in blankets ready to grill or fry tbh.

one recipe i swear by is one that i sort or come up with my self for roast chicken, get lots of butter, make small wholes on the top breast and the legs of the chicken stuff the butter under the skin and rub to make sure its covering all the under skin, then take a bit more butter rub all over chicken then slat nd pepper all over, put in oven for how ever long it says on pack, this makes really crispy skin and keeps the meat from going dry ....yumm

I am going to my mums this year and usually we have an italian feast but this year we are having beef, turkey and gammon! Yummy

I have made Christmas dinner the last 3 years as have always been at home.

But last year I used aunt bessie roaties (she does Yorkshire puddings too!) and we had a turkey crown as it's much easier than a huge turkey!

But you can buy pre stuffed chickens, chickens that have been seasoned etc and are very tasty. I also bought in the vegetable section of sainsburys a safe and onion roast potato sprinkle powder (my oh keeps going on about the M&S ad so we bought this stuff) and I have never done real roasties ever but it actually worked quite well, a few things I will do different etc.

I say the best way is to try it out over the coming months for tea. Maybe roasties with one meal, mash another, veg, chicken then at Christmas when you have found what works you will be great!!!
