First Time on Clomid and Cramping Before AF

Hi ladies,
I am 33 and my husband is 35. Was trying to look for a thread to hijack, but felt bad since everyone was already chummy with one another. I have been trying actively for 17 months. My husband and I have both gone for testing (blood test, HSG, SA, DNA frag) and are both in the clear. We are in the unexplained fertility category. We take a range of supplements since May.
This month I was on clomid 100 mg and was scheduled for an iui. I have 6 follicles on CD 10 ranging from 17mm- 9mm, ovulated on CD18 (they should have grew bigger by then), but my cycle was cancelled because I ovulated on a Sunday. Although devastated that my iui was cancelled, I still had high hopes for this cycle because we planned bd perfectly and was my first on clomid.
Had weird symptoms (cramping on 3dpo, 9dpo, 10dpo, 11 dpO and 13dpo) and late period which made my expectations go way high. Then af came today. So beaten and on to iui round 1; Will prob start clomid on Tuesday.
Trying to get a sensing. Does clomid cause cramps post ovulation? That really messed up with my mind making me think it was implantation. Anyone experienced that?

I've got everything crossed for you! But unfortunately I had pretty bad cramps before AF was due on Clomid. I don't usually ovulate so perhaps it was different for me vs unexplained. But it was a pretty heavy, painful AF. I hope it's implantation and this is your cycle though!

Hi Sarah, unfortunately af came for me today. Im on to round 2 clomid and iui hopefully next cycle. Just wondering what those cramps were about on hindsight. Thanks for your reply.

Hey Give, sorry that AF came. You and I sound a lot alike. We've been ttc for 20ish months now and also have unexplained infertility. You should join us over in Clomid Buddies

Thanks givemeabump. Thankfully I was the ideal candidate for Clomid as I didn't ovulate and once I got to the right dose it worked pretty quickly. I just wish there was something that had such a good success rate for those with unexplained (that wasn't so invasive!).

I'm sorry AF arrived, I've got my fingers crossed for you that this cycle works. The Clomid buddies thread in the LTTTC was a fantastic support for me. Hi OP - I odn't ovulate by myself so I was given 100mg Clomid which resulted in this little 7 week old bean after the first try!! On Clomid I get all kinds of tweaks and twinges, then after O I had really sore ovaries, almost like the soreness you get the day after working out. This lasted a few days, along with sore nipples.

Unfortunately being on Clomid makes it even harder to figure out what's going on as it can cause all kinds of feelings and pains! In the week before O I was crazy hot allllll the time, and having intense vivid dreams which were completely mental.
