So I'm extremely excited and want to show like NOW :haha: but I was wondering if anyone could explain to me what it feels like when your uterus moves up or gets bigger. Like can you feel it at all? Does it feel like stretching pains on your hips/ovary area? Can you feel it with your hand?

Any information would be helpful! I'm just confused because I have a belly pudge and then it goes flatter near my pubic bone (i'll post pic) so what area will stick out first? My pudge or below the pudge to make it look rounder?

P.S I know I am too early to start showing I don't expect to start for a few more weeks, but just curious as to what I should be looking/feeling for! :happydance:

Probably shouldn't expect a real bump for awhile. With my first I didn't show until 28 weeks and with my second 23.Everyone is different so of course you could show before then.Just sharing my experience.I can feel my uterus above my pubic hair line.It feels hard, kind of like a ball. This is my 3rd so maybe that makes a difference.

yeah I don't expect to show right away, but I'm sure I should be able to feel something different within the next few weeks..

I want to show right away so maybe I can wish it to happen!

Im sure.Im 9+2 and when I was 5 weeks I couldn't feel my uterus.Amazing how quickly it changes

With my first 2 I could have easily not told anyone until at least 22 weeks. I gained weight in the first trimester but did not look pregnant at all, just all over a little it fat :-(
I think I may show earlier this pregnancy simply because I am a bit overweight this time and it is my fourth so tummy muscles are non existent!!

I have friends that have a distinct bump before they are 12 weeks though so it does happen!

Well as you know I showed at 10 with Audie. I'm sure you'll show by 15-16, most people do!!!

It'll probably start to get hard feeling around second tri, give or take a few weeks!!! Mine started around my belly button!!!

Hard lump by the pubic bone. Gradually it will move up. By 12 weeks your uterus is at the height of your belly button.

At 12 weeks the uterus is just peeking out of the pelvic bone area and you might be able to feel the top (the fundus) of the uterus then. It still mostly fits in the pelvic area though. It is not until about 20 weeks that it reaches the navel. Everyone is different, of course, and things will show differently if you are having multiples or if it isn't your first pregnancy. Generally, though, I women show a bit later in the first pregnancy. You will show, though!

Thanks for all the info! Id be OK with some kind of bump! Doesn't have to be big.. Just enough to notice that its def. There :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I think you'll find it really depends. One of my colleagues has three kids and never had any stretching pains (lucky thing). With Eleanor I had horrible cramps and stretching pains (the latter got worse until I was about seven and a half months and went on maternity leave early!). This time round I am starting to get stretching pains at the sides occasionally (I'm 11 weeks but haven't done my ticker yet as not had scan yet - want to check there is a baby there before I do that!) and where my uterus is above the pubic bone feels harder than it did before. Other than that I find I can't really feel it stretching but this time round I'm showing already and this time last time I had a flat stomach!

The uterus doesn't rise above the pubic bone until after 12 weeks. I had sooooooooo much bloating but didn't start to show until about 16 weeks and no one really noticed until about three weeks ago for me!
It's an exciting time, I just wanted to be able to see my bump too :)

Congrats!! You sound like me when I was pregnant with my son :p I didn't show with him until 18w. The ladies are right- it's different for all. Some people show sooo early. Others don't show at all really. Depends on your body/muscles. Also- they say you show earlier with each pregnancy. Though, I have heard it go both ways! It's a mixed bag, really (I have been showing since 7-8w with #2) None of us ladies can truly give you an estimate, cuz I bet we were all different :3 Its one of the exciting wonders of being pregnant. Just sit back and watch your tummy grow however it's going to do so ^_^ As for feeling your uterus- I couldn't feel mine most of the time until I was further along. So happy for you and your new baby! Sorry my post wasn't a direct answer to your questions. I just remember how excited I was to show. I looked it up so many times and most of the answers were different :p <3

This is my first pregnancy.. I was so terribly bloated that I couldn't hide the pregnancy at work past 6 weeks. Around the 12 week mark is when bloating finally stopped and real bump made its way back. I really popped out last weekend at 15 weeks. Its definitely exciting :)
Hope you get your bump soon!

Just for fun, here's me with audie at 13 weeks.

This is my first pregnancy, I was bloated to the extent that to people I knew I was pregnant I had a bump. I popped properly at 14 weeks and the bump was visible enough by 17 weeks (see my current avatar for 17 week bump) for strangers in shops etc to ask when I am due.

While we are showing pics for examples- this is me at about 20w with my son Braedyn.

This is me yesterday at 16 weeks :) you will be able to feel your uterus, it's easier for me to find mine when I'm lying down. It'll start at your pubic line and move up and it's a pretty unmistakable knot. The other picture is where you can see my uterus when I lay down flat.

A bump doesn't usually become noticeable until around 20 weeks but of course it's different for everyone. With regards to stretching of the uterus, you can sometime get round ligament pain around the pubic bone as the ligaments stretch to accommodate for your growing uterus :) Good luck I hope have a happy and healthy pregnancy :)

thanks! I def. believe I have been feeling round ligament pains! I have had them for about a week now when I move a certain way or too fast, stretch, or sneeze.. they last about a minute and then go away, but its like a pulling pain on my hip.

Yep that's then alright :) I had them in both pregnancies. Worse with my first but still there with my second x
