FOB & I split when I was roughly 6 weeks pregnant. He came to the scans etc & is on the birth cert, he pays maintenance & is a wonderful dad to our son a few hours per week (even if it annoys me that he doesn't do things MY way, bangs los head when he gets him out the cat etc!)
BUT
He has 2 children from a previous relationship, he left them 10 years ago & hasn't seen them since. Everytime I try to talk about it he says "We split up, my ex was a lawyer, I paid thousands in court fees & eventually had to walk away, you don't know the circumstances" & walks off. Ive tried to talk to his parents, but they too brush it off.
NO circumstances on this earth would have me leave my son.
Do I have a right to know what happened? Is there anyone I can contact to find out why he wasn't able to see his kids??
Thank you!

I would be more concerned that he saw your child. Unless of course you have serious suspicions about why he doesn't or cannot see his other children which directly affects your child, not sure how you would be able to find out though unless you can contact his ex and ask her.

Honestly, you don't need to know anything about his other children as they are no relation to you. It's his business. If you were both married, it'd be different.

If you're weary, contact social services or the lawyer he was seeing and question if it's a serious matter which is too putting your son at danger (if it was that serious, that is).

It could just be that his ex was a bitch, or he was dead beat.

^^^not sure why being married would make a difference???

Anyhoo, many men get really shit end deals in court...not always obv...but some men really want to be there for their children and get out lawyer in court. Happens...hopefully that is the case. You said yourself he is a wonderful father, I would leave it at that. If concerns for your LO ever arrise then act on them.
