follow on milk

hi all just a quick question, aptimil on the carton say up to 6mnths and follow on milk 6mnths+ ......now do u have to switch? i wasnt aware of this but my OH noticed? he wants to switch now hes seen that?

any one here switch to follow on at 6mnths? alys is nearly 7mnths now?

I switched Rosie to cow and gate follow on at 6 months its just cos its got extra iron in and I did with Jack too but you dont have too, they can stay on stage 1 until 12 months I think x

I went onto follow on milk at 6months for the same reason paula did. However when i asked my HV at the time she told me that it was my decision if i chose to. xx

ok cool, i didnt know it had extra iron?, shes having 2 meals a day aswell, sometimes 3 lol

yes it has extra iron because once a baby reaches 6 months, all its iron stores that it built up from when we were carrying them have been used up so the follow on milk just helps with iron intake a bit, but if baby is having a varied diet its fine to keep them on stage 1 milk...I just change just to be sure really, no harm hope that helps a bit x

i've been wondering about this as well and have finally made the decision to change over next week already brought the carton to switch but i will introduce it slowly so that her stomach ajusts to it.x

I didnt change to follow on milk, Brooke is still on SMA Gold, they dont have to be changed over if you dont want to.

I haven't changed either - I think as long as they get a varied diet their usual milk is fine. Someone posted before.. "lesser milk, less crap" and its stuck in my mind.
